Volleyballers happy to be back in action

There was also a memorial wall for players and supporters lost to the pandemic.

Recently, Kad Volleyball took part in the first event from the Gauteng Masters Association since Covid-19 hit at John Barrable Hall.

There was also a memorial wall for all the players and supporters they have lost during the pandemic.

“Sadly, Kad could not compete in this event with our full team due to several injuries and some of the team mourning family members,” explained Sash Nair, media and PR director.

“However, a few of our players still wanting to show support and attend, played the tournament with a ‘loan player’ from another team.

“We decided to withdraw from playing the finals, despite winning all our matches in order to give other teams an opportunity to play.”

All Covid protocols were strictly enforced by the organisers and all players supported the efforts.

“We were happy to be reunited with our volleyball family and to see volleyball players in high spirits, playing the sport we all love. It was a busy but amazing day of volleyball,” concluded Nair.
