Boksburg Child Welfare grateful for donation

Afrox have been supporting the Thokomala homes for over eight years.

Afrox SHEQ recently made a generous donation to the charity organisation Liv Thokomala, which runs two centres.

The centres, located in Villa Liza and Vosloorus, are managed by Boksburg Child Welfare.

The donated household items included comforter sets, pillows, towels, irons, kettles and other items.

The company also sponsored gifts and boxes containing products such as shoes for the children.

Guided by a theme of Investing in the Future, Afrox is involved in ongoing sustainable community upliftment activities that focus on children, their education, healthcare, social issues and the environment.

Under a banner of corporate volunteering, Afrox’s Bumbanani community involvement programme calls for hands-on involvement, rather than ‘cheque-book charity’.

The objective of the programme is to make a meaningful and lasting difference in the lives of disadvantaged children within the communities in which the company does business.

“Boksburg Child Welfare is grateful for the continued generosity of Afrox. It’s been over eight years that they have continued to support the Thokomala homes and the children.

“They have assisted to ensure the living circumstances of the children and housemothers are comfortable and they have brought joy to the children,” said Vanessa Naidoo-Pillay, director of Boksburg Child Welfare.
