Everything is all set for the Oosrand Secondary golf day

The golf day is an important fund-raising initiative to help supplement the portion the school receives from the government.

Event organisers said they are all set to hold the long-delayed fourth annual fund-raising project to benefit Oosrand Secondary School.

The school’s golf day is set to take place at the ERPM Golf Course on August 29, after it was initially postponed to avert the likely effects of the country’s Covid-19 third wave.

The initiative offers businesses and individuals the opportunity to sponsor a hole or to bring players to participate in the fund-raiser.

The school principal, Peter Arendse, described the golf day as an important fund-raising initiative to help supplement the portion the school receives from the government.
He pointed out that every year the gap between the government funding and the actual cost to run the school widens. The balance then needs to be raised by external sources and community fund-raisers.
