AfriForum Boksburg participates in national mass patrol

AfriForum Boksburg's chairperson described the mass patrol as a success.

AfriForum Boksburg took part in a mass patrol on July 30 as part of the organisation’s national patrol, Operasie Ysbeer, aimed at increasing visibility.

According to AfriForum Boksburg chairperson Francois Reyneke, the patrol was undertaken in partnership with the SAPS, Boksburg North CPF, EMS, KPS, Fidelity ADT, Makopano Risk Solutions, Graphite Security, CPI, SWS, IER, Chaplins and 1Life Rescue.

He said 33 AfriForum members took part with 16 cars that drove 1 700km from 16:00 till 06:00 while patrolling the entire Boksburg area.

The chairperson described the mass patrol as a success.

“There were a few incidents where we could assist. These included two accidents, a man who collapsed, two attempted house break-ins and we informed some residents their gates were left open,” he said.

Reyneke thanked all those who participated in the mass patrol.

“We hope this patrol helps to improve our relationship with other stakeholders so we can work together in the future,” he added.
