Nominate your Hero of the Month

Since May, three local community heroes have each won an R1 000 West Pack Lifestyle voucher following their deserving nomination for the Advertiser/West Pack Lifestyle Hero of the Month competition.

Winners include Lucky Six of Delmore Gardens, Esta Lotter of Sunward Park, and Yosheen Moodley of Eveleigh.

Your local hero could also be a deserving winner but they are waiting for you to nominate them!

This is your chance as nominations are now open for the August Hero of the Month and close on August 13 at noon.

This is a monthly competition, so there’s still plenty of time to put forward the names of those you think are worthy of being the Hero of the Month.

Remember, we’re not looking for celebrities, just our ordinary Boksburgers who go about their business but always have time to think of others and put up their hand for a good cause.

Think of people who are doing good for our environment, animal lovers, those who run soup kitchens or fill the odd pothole and pick up litter on the weekend, care workers, NPO workers or teachers and business people who have a heart for the less fortunate and care about their city. And because we love animals too and know how awesome they are, we are open to animal heroes being nominated too.

By nominating these individuals, you could put them in line to win an R1 000 West Pack Lifestyle voucher to spend however they wish.

How does it work?
Celebrate that hero in your community by nominating them as the Advertiser/West Pack Lifestyle Hero of the Month.

Send your full name and contact details and the full name and contact details of the person you are nominating to our hero hunter, Ntombikayise Sibeko, and include a motivation about your hero of no more than 200 words.

A few rules
• The hero nominated must live in Boksburg.
• Your entry must include a motivation of no more than 200 words.
• The winner will be selected by the Caxton Local Media team.
• The winner must be prepared to be interviewed and photographed for the newspaper.
• This first call for nominations closes on August 13.
