Are you going to vote in the upcoming municipal elections?

The IEC will host a national voter registration weekend on July 31 and August 1 ahead of the municipal elections, scheduled to take place on October 27.

The Advertiser asked a few local if they will  be heading to the polls to make their mark in October?

André Luzolu: Like many other people, I’m still deciding if I’m going to vote. Things like unemployment are getting worse by the day.

Elize Kluyts: I’m not voting this year. Is it even worth it to vote? Nothing improves and we just get empty promises.

Carli Bonaparte: I’m definitely heading to my voting station. Democracy only works if people participate. If you don’t vote, you’re going to get stuck with other people’s choices.

Denise Manning: I’ll vote in the hope that it will help to change things for the better. It’s important to make your mark.

Chane Germishuys: I have never voted in my life before and I certainly won’t vote this year. Voting is just not my thing.
