“It was a great weekend getting everyone together and playing baseball,” said Bennett.

Saturday also saw a player draft being held for the newly-introduced women’s league to help promote women’s baseball. The ladies then went on to feature on Sunday.

Also forming part of the celebrations was an old boys game which featured old players from the various districts. Bennett added that this part of the weekend gained the most interest, with players asking about the next game afterwards.

“A big thank you to all the districts for adhering to all Covid protocols,” said Bennett.

Women who are interested in playing baseball can contact Bennett on 083 447 0805.
