St Dom’s honours hockey pair

Local hockey duo enjoying a purple patch.

St Dominic’s Catholic School for Girls pair Taylor and Tamika Ashton have been making hockey inroads.

Taylor has recently been selected for the Eastern Gauteng Senior ladies indoor hockey team but unfortunately has had to withdraw from the team as she will be writing her final matric exams when the inter-provincial is due to be played.

She’s also represented the ladies u-18 Mzanzi Hawks team in the prestigious Johannesburg Hockey League. In addition, she is also a member of the u-23 Eastern Gauteng ladies team, which received a silver medal at their inter-provincial tournament, which was held in December.
Tamika is a Premier Indoor Hockey indoor player and received a gold medal for winning the league. She too has represented the Mzanzi Hawks team on the u-16 level. Tamika has also been a member of the Eastern Gauteng women’s indoor hockey team.
