The Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit based in Brakpan is investigating a case of rape after a 29-year-old woman was assaulted at knifepoint recently in Witfield.
The woman told police while walking across an open field in Biddulph Street, she noticed an unknown man following her.
According to Boksburg North police spokesperson Const Justice Ramaube, the woman alleged that when the man came closer she made way for him to pass, but he instead took out a knife and told her to go further into the field.
“She was threatened not to scream and subsequently the man removed her undies and raped her while wearing a condom,” said Ramaube.
A case of rape was opened at the Boksburg North SAPS.
The Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit will investigate the matter as they look for possible suspects linked to this crime.
