The City of Ekurhuleni is hosting a library Fine-Free Week from March 15 to 21 and urges its clients to take advantage of the amnesty period.
According to metro spokesperson Zweli Dlamini, this is a period where library users with library material such as books that are overdue are allowed to return the material without being fined or asked any question.
“Patrons are encouraged to just come and drop the library books or material inside the drop box at their nearest library during the week and save themselves a fine or penalty.
“This is done to encourage those who might have missed the return dates of the books, to hand them back without any penalty or fine imposed on them,” explained Dlamini.
