Following President Cyril Ramaphosa’s announcement to move the country from level three to one, the Advertiser asked locals if they thought it was a good decision.
Sibusiso Ndlovu: “They shouldn't have moved the country to level one yet, especially with the third wave that is on its way.”
Adv Motlatjo Ralefantane: “It's a good thing that the country is moving to level one as the number of positive cases is declining. I am just concerned that more social gatherings are allowed now.”
Michelle Ngwenya: “I believe it was about time because people have suffered with all these restrictions in place.”
Wonderboy Mdletshe: “It was a good idea to adjust the levels because at least now the economy will open up and more people will be employed.”
Herman Meyer: “It was way too soon because of the third wave that is expected to hit our country soon. I feel they could have waited until the third wave has passed.”
Lavu Makomo: “Due to the decrease in the number of infections, I think the government made a good decision. At least things will go back to normal.”
Cebo Sangwemi: “It's way too soon to move the country to level one. They should've waited until more vaccines can be secured.”
