Renier Nel (45) lost his battle against Covid-19 on August 3 last year. Renier served the community of Boksburg and Ekurhuleni as a firefighter and paramedic with pride, valour and dignity for over 26 years and was stationed at Leon Ferreira Fire Station in Boksburg. Capt Thabiso Khoza, who was stationed at the Boksburg North SAPS, died on September 9 of Covid-19 related complications. Khoza served in the SAPS for 33 years since November 1987. He was a shift commander who led by an example. His work ethic and moral values will be remembered. His daughter, Nontobeko Khoza, said: “My father was a breadwinner at home. We still can’t believe he is really gone. We miss him every day and life is no longer the same without him.”
Shannon Leo Fincham succumbed to Covid-19 on August 14, 2020, at the age of 30.
