Boksburg North SAPS festive season operations in full swing

The Boksburg North SAPS has launched their crime operations to fight crime this festive season

The Boksburg North SAPS officers will be hard at work this festive season to ensure that residents are kept safe.

In dealing with the expected spike of crime during this festive season, they have planned various operations.

According to the Boksburg North SAPS spokesperson, Const Justice Ramaube, they will tighten police visibility around their policing precinct.

“These operations will include regular vehicle and foot patrols, stop and search operations and we will arrest people who are found drinking in public spaces,” Ramaube said.

He further highlighted that there will be tight security in malls, with police officers as well as other security clusters coming on board to minimise crime around the malls.

The police shares festive season safety tips
• Avoid walking through open fields alone, walk at least in pairs.
• Don’t carry large amounts of cash.
• Stokvel members need to be cautious. Walking around with a large sum of money from the banks attracts robbers. In this case, you are advised to develop an alternative means of sharing or dividing the money through the bank accounts.
• Avoid buying vehicles via social media, such as Facebook and OLX, because there are a lot of fraudulent activities taking place. Do not buy a vehicle that you haven’t seen.
• Avoid doing “back-door transactions”. The police urges the community to stay focused and not get tempted by unnecessary things.
