Local law firm donates over 100 teddy bears to the Teddy Bear Foundation

Christmas came early this year when Bavin Incorporated Attorneys recently donated over 100 teddy bears to The Teddy Bear Foundation in celebration of National Teddy Bear Day.

Furthermore, the Beyers Park law firm made a monetary donation of R2 350 towards the foundation.

Donné Engelbrecht and Imtiaz Shaikh from Bavin Inc. said they are delighted about the response they received during their teddy bear drive in September.

“Thank you to everybody who supported our teddy bear drive. Bavin Inc. could not have done it without the community and our clients’ support,” Engelbrecht said.

Dalene Bishop, The Teddy Bear Foundation’s donor liaison officer, expressed her gratitude towards Bavin Inc. for their donation.

The foundation provides holistic, integrated services to children who have been abused and their families. These free services include medical exams, forensic assessments, therapy and court preparation. They also run a number of outreach projects, including school awareness programmes, initiatives addressing gender-based violence in schools and a support programme for abuse-reactive children, giving them a second chance in life by diverting them from the criminal justice system.
