Ward 42 councillor Ngcwama dies

Her immense contribution will serve as a reminder to every public servant that they should not shift from their core responsibility as public representatives

Ward 42 councillor Eva Ngcwama died on May 14, following a short illness.

Ngcwama served as a member of section 79 oversight committees, including environment and waste management and economic development committees.

According to a press release from the ANC Ekurhuleni Caucus, Ngcwama was down to earth and a hard-working servant with a long history of community service.

“We take this moment of grief to convey our deepest and heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, comrades and to many other structures of the community where she made her contribution to the development of our people and its city,” the statement read.

Further, it highlighted that they believe that her immense contribution will serve as a reminder to every public servant that they should not shift from their core responsibility as public representatives, thus to serve the people with diligence.

“We wish to extend our gratitude to the family for having allowed us to share her life with the rest of the community of ward 42, especially the City of Ekurhuleni.”
