Remember to support the work of The Forgotten East Rand

They are in need of funds and items such as tinned food, rice, mealie meal, soya mince, fruit, blankets and clothing

Amanda Coetzee, founder of Kuselo Child And Youth Care Services, is determined to continue to assist the frail and deprived during the stage four lockdown as part of The Forgotten East Rand upliftment programme

Kuselo and Legendary Guardians Exclusive Protection initiated the project at the start of the lockdown. They fed hundreds of needy people in areas such as Reiger Park, Blue Sky informal settlement and Andries Scribante Haven on weekdays.

The founder of Kuselo explained they will provide nutritious meals to people at Andries Scribante and will deliver food parcels and winter necessities to people under the new lockdown regulations. The project will also continue to donate dog food to the furry friends at PawsRehoming and other pets in need.

However, they are in need of community support to continue their good work.

Amanda said they are in need of funds and items such as tinned food, rice, mealie meal, soya mince, fruit, blankets and clothing to help people.

“It would help us if people can contribute towards the project. No contribution is too small and it will help the people a lot. We want to help people in the community who are truly forgotten and are struggling to survive the lockdown,” she said.

She also highlighted that the objective of the project is only to provide food and necessities. Therefore, they will not assist people financially. Retail companies which would like to donate food or essentials are urged to come on board. Amanda further expressed her gratitude towards everybody who worked tirelessly to help them to support others during this difficult time.

“I would like to thank our sponsors, volunteers and people who supported the project in any way. It is much appreciated,” she said.

Anybody who wishes to support the project may contact Amanda on 072 512 7227 or Clinton on 076 541 1159.
