R50k reward offered for recovery of R7-m worth of stolen masks

Those with helpful information are asked to contact Boksburg North police.

Management of a Boksburg-based trucking company is offering a cash reward of R50 000 for information leading to the recovery of stolen essential goods, as well as the arrest and subsequent prosecution of all parties involved in the crime.

According to the company’s general manager, the ordeal began when a gang of criminals hijacked their truck hauling a load of 250 000 masks worth an estimated street value of R7-million in Boksburg North on April 16.

“The truck had just returned from collecting the masks from the client before it was hijacked as it was approaching the depot in Hughes. My driver was released unharmed,” said the general manager.

The general manager added that the truck was, hours later, recovered in Thembisa, but the load was nowhere to be found.

If your information leads to an arrest or the recovery of these stolen masks, you could earn a reward of up to R50 000.

“Please keep your eye open for these masks. Seemingly, they are an extremely hot commodity right now. A reward of up to R50 000 is being offered to any individual for information that could lead to the recovery of the masks and the arrests of those involved in the hijacking.”

Those with helpful information are asked to call 10111 or send SMS’s to 32211.
