The Dawn Park police are searching for two men who were involved in a house robbery which resulted in one of their friends being killed during a shootout.
The house robbery took place recently in Villa Liza at around 7pm.
According to Dawn Park SAPS spokesperson, Const Nkemeleng Mabula, when the house owner arrived home with his family, he allegedly found three armed men waiting in the yard.
“The suspects allegedly forced the family into the house and took their cellphones, plasma television and fled the scene with the victim’s vehicle,” Mabula said.
Mabula said members from Tracker tracked the vehicle to Mapleton Plots where a shootout ensued between the suspects and members from Tracker.
One of the suspects was killed on the scene while the other two suspects ran away, leaving the victim’s vehicle behind.
The police recovered the stolen cellphones, plasma television and a firearm.
