Watch: Four shops looted in alleged xenophobic attacks in Boksburg

The police and EMPD are on the scene to redirect traffic

The Advertiser is on the scene in Witfield where violence has flared up  allegedly against foreigners.

The entrance to Jerusalem informal settlement along Main Reef Road is closed due to protest action.

According to the residents of Jerusalem, foreign shop owners are selling illegal stuff such as drugs.

It is understood that some of the foreigners are now left stranded in Witfield, following the attacks.

Some of the stranded foreigners who apparently have been the victims of latest outbreaks of violence in the city.

The protest started on Sunday at around 10pm.

It is understood residents were not only attacking foreign shop owners but foreigners who have no legal documents to be in the country.
