Boksburg Rotary clubs in the swing with fund-raiser golf day

Rotary Boksburg president Derek Fox and Rotary Boksburg Lake president Michele Choromanski enjoyed the day with the members of their club for the benefit of their community.

The Rotary clubs of Boksburg and Boksburg Lake recently hosted a golf day in aid of needy children in Boksburg.

Great enthusiasm was experienced among the organisers, workers, sponsors and players.

Everybody had only one goal, which was to raise much-needed funds for the benefit of their beneficiaries.

Public relations officer for Rotary Club Boksburg Elsa Venter said: “Rotary thanks the ERPM Golf Club for their sponsorship of the Morris Cohen Golf Day.

“Secondly, Lego made beautiful sets of fantastic toys available for the clubs to use as raffle prizes for the fund-raising.

“A number of holes were sponsored by businesses, for which cards reflecting each business’s logo were displayed at each hole. This attracted a lot of admiration.

“Other interesting activities on the day included the big booze raffle and the Lego raffle for which players also had to lay nearest or furthest from the pin on the green.

“Lego helped Rotary to bring the community’s attention to the fact that fund-raising for the benefit of the needy is a very important activity.

“Dave Wauchope Ltd supplied shooters at the seventh hole in one green, where Lynda Milligan did not let anybody pass without participating in this activity,” Venter said.
