Water gushes out of burst pipe, response slow

The Advertiser is still waiting for a comment from the metro.

A resident of Impala Park is concerned about the amount of clean water that was wasted through a burst pipe in Buccaneer Street.

According to the resident, he reported the matter when the pipe first burst on May 7.

Only three days later did the metro respond.

“At first, I was told the turnaround time for the pipe to be fixed was 24 hours,” said the resident, who wishes to remain anonymous.

The burst pipe in Buccaneer Street is still giving problems.

“After that I was informed that the turnaround time will be 48 hours. And so the turnaround time kept changing.

“Water is precious and it should not be wasted. My gardener also tried to keep the water out of my property.”

Subsequently, there is hole dug which is filled with water and the pipe has not been covered yet.
