Sing for Joy concert to thrill

Sing for Joy 2019 promises to be a most enjoyable concert, with a choir of approximately 100 members singing beautiful sacred and secular numbers.

The St Dunstan’s Music Foundation will stage its Sing for Joy concert on Saturday, June 1.

This concert will be the foundation’s 17th production, the first having been staged in 2003. This year sees Robert Strijdom and Japhta Luphuzi taking the role of musical directors.

Japhta will be conducting and Robert, who did many of the arrangements, will be playing the organ.

The music will evoke images of Egypt and will include some well-known pieces, such as Verdi’s Slave chorus and the theme song from The Prince of Egypt. There will be guest performances by the St Dunstan’s College Choirs and Benoni High School’s award-winning pipe band.

The concert will be taking place at the St Dunstan’s Cathedral in Woburn Avenue, Benoni, from 2.30pm to 6.30pm.

Tickets are available on Quicket, at Daniella’s Jewellers (Farrarmere Square) or at the cathedral, or from Anne Young on 083 665 3775.
