Robbers posing as customers strike at a local Pep store

In the past the Pep stores in Witfield, in the CBD, Sunward Park and Parkrand have also been robbed

The Pep store in Cason Road was robbed of approximately R30 000, which includes items and cash on May 6.

The incident took place around 9.45am when six suspects, disguised as customers, looted the store.

According to the Boksburg North SAPS spokesperson Constable Justice Ramaube, one of the suspects pulled out a firearm and pointed it at the security guards.

“During the robbery, the suspects allegedly managed to get away with 40 cellphones, 20 USB sticks, 20 memory cards, six earphones, two Pep money cards and cash to the amount of approximately R8 000.”

“The victims could not identify the suspects’ gateway vehicle though they suspect it is a white Nyathi taxi which was parked near the store. There were no shots fired and no one was injured,” Ramaube said.

A case of business robbery was opened at the Boksburg North SAPS and no arrests has been made.

Police are looking for information that could lead to the arrests of the suspects. Anyone with information can contact 08600 10111 anytime.
