Win big with the Insimbi Legacy Projects

Insimbi Legacy Project seeks to get the public involved in the fight against poaching.

Sharon Janse van Rensburg, the owner of Divine Be Gracious Boksburg and rhino warrior, was recently named the ambassador of the Insimbi Legacy Projects.

Carmela Lattanzi started the project to involve the public in the fight against poaching after one of her widely admired rhinos, Insimbi, was killed in 2014.

Carmela has since vowed to protect the rhino in memory of Insimbi.

According to Sharon, it costs a tremendous amount to keep rhinos safe as they are kept in their natural habitat.

“Insimbi is an adventure with a cause which aims at educating and creating awareness through a high-visibility programme, where paying guests can take part in a wide variety of activities, such as rhino monitoring, foot and vehicle patrols, basic bushcraft and survival skills, tactical shooting, an obstacle course, team-building activities, dinner around a campfire and aerial patrols

“I’m extremely happy that she is inviting the public to her farm. It is an unbelievable experience to see these rhinos up close, they are majestic,” said Sharon.

She said people will also learn interesting facts, like a white rhino has a gestation period of 16-18 months, a black rhino 15-16 months and an Indian rhino 16 months.

The reservation is situated in northern Limpopo, but for security reasons the exact location will be disclosed 24 hours before guests’ arrival.

Sharon has managed to get Cotton Road on board so the public can buy accessories like a bag “with a purpose”.

Businesses can also put their own logo on the item.

A certain amount of the profit will be donated to the Insimbi Legacy Project and Checkers Hyper Boksburg will also raise money by putting charity tins at their tills.

Sharon is also part of the Bush Babes Adventure and Safari Club. She’s always had a passion for the bushveld and got involved with the Insimbi Legacy Project as she believes rhinos are worth fighting for.
