Hockey star Oratilwe selected for specialised sports tour to Holland

A sought after figure, thanks to her skills, she earned a scholarship from EG Jansen and joined the sport-proud school in Grade Nine. She’s now in Grade 10.

A selected team of top hockey players who recently participated in a hockey clinic in Bloemfontein will embark on a specialised sports tour to Holland between September 22 and October 3.

Hoërskool Dr EG Jansen player Oratilwe Selamolela is one of the selected stars from the Klerksdorp clinic and is appealing to any organisations, sponsors and even individuals for financial assistance to help fund the R43 990 tour.

The tour will see the team travel to the European nation to compete in matches and be involved in training clinics with Dutch coaches.

The tour has been specifically constructed to expose players not only to the sport essence of the people and offerings of Holland, but also the prospective opportunities available to them.

“My goal is to play for South Africa and represent my country at the Olympic Games and Holland would broaden the possibilities of my dream becoming a reality,” she said.

Oratilwe broke into the Eastern Gauteng team while she was in Grade Seven at Laerskool Elspark.

She’s fairly behind payment with a second instalment of R10 000 due on April 30.

For further information her mother, Lemo, can be contacted on 081 733 0834 or emailed at selamolelalemo@gmail.com
