Upcoming racing star Jason shows his class at Michelin series
His quest of continuing the reputation in the Van Breda family continues on March 10, where his next races will be held in Polokwane.
Sporty youngster Jason van Breda (7) won the Overall Rider of the Day trophy at the Michelin Superbike Magazine Short Circuit Series at the Zwartkops Raceway in Pretoria.
The Christian Brothers’ College Boksburg learner was awarded the prestigious accolade after scooping three gold and three bronze medals in his six races across two different series.
He dominated in the Mini Moto Class and finished first overall before finishing third overall in the more challenging Honda NSF 100cc Class, where he finished third three times.
He was the youngest competitor in the latter series, which included riders as old as 13.
Proud dad Graeme said: “He is one of the fastest up-and-coming riders in the country, he comes from a family with a long history of motorcycle racers.
“His grandfather, Les van Breda, holds national colours and is a national champion. Jason’s father also has national colours.”
Van Breda is also a prolific junior swimmer at his school.
