Think before you vote during the election

Shaun Carter from Boksburg writes:

It upsets me when the national election time comes around because you suddenly realise that there is, in fact, a government busy cleaning the streets and painting new road markings.

Where was this activity when it was needed?

Once the vote had been cast and the victors been announced, little regard is paid to the community as we have illegal businesses operating in the Boksburg CBD, yet nothing is being done about it.

When the elections are won, the town reverts back to its filthy self.

We don’t want people or political parties who offer salvation as a temporary solution with a long-term price.

This activity does not continue throughout the year. We want a party to serve the community 24/7 as citizens do not want to vote for ‘we will’.

During election time parties promise us the earth but deliver dust when they win.

We want a party to put the people first and not their own agendas to keep Boksburg clean and tidy day in and day out, rain or sunshine.

We want a party that respects their citizens enough to eradicate the scourge of crime and abuse that plague our city.

We want change but is it truly possible when the parties only show their mettle when they are close to election time?

We want a party that sees people and not seats of government.

We want a party that is consistent and reliable, that does not point the blame constantly at the doors of others.

Think carefully when you vote, as your decision can usher in dedicated party individuals or those who will forget you once the elections are over.

The choice is yours.
