Brazen criminals loot houses in Boksburg

Here are some of the serious crimes recently reported to the Boksburg police.

Robbery

• A gang of about six men, donned in work suits and driving in a blue Volkswagen, held workers at gunpoint and stole valuable goods from a residential house in Libradene, in broad daylight on January 22.

One of the workers, a gardener, told the police he was busy carrying out his duties when a group of thugs arrived, aimed a gun at him before they forced him into the house where the other employee, a domestic worker, was busy working.

Both employees were taken into one of the bedrooms where they were tied with cable ties and the gunman threatened to shoot them if they didn’t cooperate.

The robbers then helped themselves to the valuable contents of the house and fled the scene. The homeowner arrived and untied his workers.

• In Comet, a group of five robbers armed with firearms entered a residential house and robbed the family of its valuable belongings on January 22.

The family members were watching TV while having supper when the crooks invaded their home and stole a TV set, a cellphone, sound system, a printer and two bags. The thugs were seen fleeing the scene on foot.

Burglary

• In Freeway Park, thieves burgled a residential house and stole a Plasma TV. It is believed that the break-in occurred sometime during the period when the homeowner was asleep in the house between 9pm, January 16 and 4.20am January 17.

• In Freeway Park, thieves forced their way into a house and stole a laptop, a DVD player, a micro oven and a cellphone, in broad daylight on January 18. The homeowner told the police that he had left the house on Laborie Road and went to court at about 12.15pm, but when he returned home he found that the burglar door was damaged.
