Heated argument over dog leads to man’s death

Police apprehended the nephew believed to be responsible for the killing.

A 19-year-old man has been arrested for the alleged murder of his 54-year-old uncle in Reiger Park.

According to the Reiger Park police, the uncle was killed just before 4pm on November 3, following a heated argument with his nephew over a dog.

The dispute broke out after the uncle allegedly attacked the suspect’s dog, for apparently eating his food. A dispute then ensued and that’s when the suspect allegedly took out a knife and stabbed his uncle to death.

Police were dispatched to the address after receiving a complaint from one of the family members. They found the unresponsive uncle lying on the ground.

He had suffered six stab wounds, three in one hand, two in the chest and one in the neck.

Paramedics also arrived and certified the wounded man dead on the scene.

He was charged with murder and has already made his first court appearance on November 5.

The matter was postponed to November 9 for a formal bail application and the suspect was remanded in custody.
