A 23-year-old man from Windmill Park was arrested on August 18 for allegedly stabbing his 19-year-old girlfriend to death.
The incident took place at about 5am.
According to Const Nkemeleng Mabula, Dawn Park SAPS spokesperson, the station received a domestic violence complaint.
“On arrival at the house, the owner of the house reported to the police that there was a fight between the boyfriend and his girlfriend who were renting his backroom.”
Mabula said during the fight, the boyfriend allegedly assaulted and stabbed his girlfriend with a sharp object and ran away.
“The police opened a case of murder immediately and they started with the investigation.”
“The investigation led them to Windmill Park where the suspect was arrested,” Mabula said.
