Boksburg beauty shining bright in Apprentesses
Apprentesses is a competition to empower young women in the entertainment industry of South Africa and the perfect platform to pursue their dreams to be in the spotlight.
Miss Earth South Africa 2016 semi-finalist Luré Delport likes leaving her footprints of love, friendship and support upon those she meets.
She is now an Apprentesses 2018 finalist.
The 28-year-old from Boksburg obtained her bachelor’s degree in education, as well as her honours in learner support, (completing her masters) at the North-West University in Potchefstroom.
She describes herself as an extremely driven person, with a deep love for education.
“Education is my hobby and my passion,” she said and, in the same breath, added that she would love to empower all children, especially vulnerable children.
“Nelson Mandela’s valuable words read: ‘Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world’. Therefore this is my goal, which is to share knowledge and to create opportunities for the community through education.”
“I am always ready for a challenge and I enjoy the nature of South Africa.”
Delport lives by her life-motto – ‘Only God knows when my windmill should turn’.
She also strongly believes she must never stop praying and keep on believing.
Delport is at her happiest when she is with like-minded people who take every opportunity that comes their way.
“Since starting on the Apprentesses journey my life has taken on paths I never thought possible. It has enabled me to take on avenues and venture into the unknown.
“I love meeting new people every day, sharing my passions and not knowing what tomorrow might bring, ensures that “I live my life to its fullest today.”
Delport states that she is competing with no one. She has no desire to play the game of being better than anyone.
“I am simply striving to be better than I was yesterday.”
The Apprentesses grand finale will be held on August 11 at the Royal Elephant Hotel in Centurion.
