Members of the Boksburg SAPS along with the station’s Victim Empowerment Centre (VEC) visited Angelo informal settlement to raise awareness on domestic abuse on July 8.
This was in an effort to put a stop to domestic violence in communities.
The event was held outside the shopping centre in the informal settlement where different speakers urged people who have been and are being abused to speak out about abuse in their families.
The police admitted that domestic violence has become almost commonplace in Angelo, and police said they are determined to break the cycle.
