Recycling Centre and depot launch at Freeway Park Primary

The school invited members from Mpact and the Glass Recycling Company, SGB members and representatives from Wildlife and Environmental Society of South Africa.

The eco-committee at Freeway Park Primary School officially opened their recycling centre and depot on June 15.

Freeway Park Primary principal, Mary-Ann van Eeden, said: “We invite the Freeway Park community to use the school’s bins to recycle their paper (including cardboard and newspapers) and glass bottles.

“The school is trying very hard to win the competitions run by Mpact and The Glass Recycling Company and would appreciate it very much if you would help them to do so.

“The school earns a small amount from the recycled materials but the emphasis is on creating environmental consciousness in the learners, which includes keeping the school as litter-free as possible.”
