Pair escaped serious accident with minor injuries

It is not clear at this stage as to what caused the crash.

A driver of an X3 BMW and a passenger escaped with minor injuries when the vehicle they were driving in lost control and overturned on North Rand Road near Kirschner Road.

According to EMPD spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng, the accident reportedly happened on May 14 just before midnight.

It was, however, only reported to the police at 3.26am the following day.

“The pair sustained minor injuries and they were both taken to the Tambo Memorial Hospital for medical treatment.

“Before the patients were transported to the hospital, they arranged for towing which took long to recover the wreck because of the heavy mist in the area.

“There’s nothing sinister about the vehicle after it was tested,” said Kobeli.

The police also didn’t register any case because no serious injuries were sustained and no one was killed.

By this afternoon (May 16) the vehicle was still at the site of the crash.

Information provided by people running businesses in the area, suggests that perhaps there’s more to this situation than meets the eye.
