Tommy ‘Gun’ in custody

Van Dyk Park professional boxer Thomas "Tommy Gun" Oosthuizen (29) was remanded in custody after he appeared in the Vosloorus Magistrate's Court again on Friday, December 15, on a charge of malicious damage to property.

He pleaded guilty to the charge on September 12, and at a court appearance on September 28 the magistrate ruled Oosthuizen could be released on condition that he compensate the complainant, Charles Oosthuizen, to the value of the damage caused (R8 500) on or before December 15.

Oosthuizen had failed to do so and will, therefore, be kept in custody until Thursday, December 21, for the same purpose of meeting the compensation condition.
