WATCH: Girl Guides revel in fun by staging a musical

Girl Guides South Africa hosted a ‘Go Musical with Brownie Revels’ show recently at the Boksburg Guide Hall, in Parkdene.

The organisation is a NPO that empowers girls and women to reach their fullest potential and become responsible citizens through a dynamic programme.

The aim of Girl Guides is to nurture young women to develop core manners, values and morals so as to become good community leaders of the future.

At the event, some of the girl guides participated in a talent show while guests could relax in the tea garden.

Other activities for the children on the day included a jumping castle, face painting, games such as sticky stones, skittles, hoops, topple tins and much more.

SA Idols contestant Bongi Mthombeni provided entertainment and was the highlight of the day for the children.

The event was aimed at raising funds for the Girl Guides Gauteng Region so that the organisation can continue assisting girls in Wattville, Leondale and Katlehong to reach their learning levels within Girl Guides.

Mandy Payze, from Girl Guides SA, said it was the first time they had hosted an event like this.

“We had a fair turnout from the public. The show was very entertaining and we thank guide families who supported the event, as well as Harddrive Productions for bringing Bongi to sing for the children,” she said.
