The Advertiser requested comment from the metro on various issues related to the relocation, on July 13, but has received no response.
Last month, Angelo informal settlement community leaders said the municipality wants to relocate the community to a piece of land next to Waverley Care Centre, in Knights, Germiston, temporarily.
Residents have, however, made it clear that they are against this plan.

To display their disapproval of the planned relocations of their homes, thousands of residents converged on Main Reef Road and marched to the Boksburg Civic Centre, where they delivered a memorandum of demands to the municipality, on July 11.
“Following the march, municipal officials have on several occasions arranged for meetings with us, the Angelo community leaders, but the officials didn’t pitch up at the meetings we agreed to,” said one of the community leaders, Thomas Sibuyi.
Furthermore, it was reported that residents of Germiston are also against the establishment of an informal settlement in their area.
The Advertiser’s sister newspaper, the Germiston City News, has reported that an application to obtain an interdict to stop the Angelo move is currently under way in the Johannesburg High Court. -@FanieFLK
