Roadworks in Beyers Park create dust problem for residents

The unfinished roadworks on Phillips Road has become a matter of great concern among residents of Beyers Park.

It is reported that a couple of months ago municipal contractors apparently removed the surface layer on a stretch of the road, forcing people to drive on gravel.

One of the residents, Joy Lobert, said the dust from the road is causing problems for residents.

The Advertiser visited the area and noticed that the nearby buildings are covered with a layer of dust.

Lobert said she and other people who live on the road have asked the Ward 22 councillor Ruhan Robinson for some help, but nothing has happened so far.

“Ruhan told us the project may resume after July 7 and that the project was stopped because the metro ran out of funds to continue with it,” said Lobert.

Neither Robinson nor the metro could not be reached for comment by the time of print.
