Thank you Boksburg for making the wool drive a huge success

The wool the Advertiser has been collecting over the past few months has warmed a couple of hearts on the East Rand already.

All stock goes to the Sunward Park Cancer Support Group called The Champions.

Volunteers jump on board to knit beautiful beanies, scarves, bedsocks, knee blankets and care bears.

Each item is made with much love.

Goodie packs are then made up of each of the knitwear items and distributed among cancer patients and those receiving treatment at the oncology centrums.

“These works of love land in the hands of those who need it the most and they truly appreciate it,” said Gwen Janse van Rensburg and Myrtle Bell from the Sunward Park Cancer Support Group.

The care bears are made with much love and are on sale for R30 each.

The care bears are also on sale at R30 each.

Anyone who would like to knit for this special cause may contact Gwen on 084 817 6572 or Myrtle on 084 206 7288.

The group is also asking for volunteers to hand out goodie packs at the oncology centrums on the East Rand.

From the Advertiser, we would like to send out a heartfelt thank you to the community for their continuous donations.

You are welcome to still donate your unwanted wool at the drop-off points.

q Those affected by cancer or who have lost loved ones to this terminal disease and are interested in joining the Sunward Park Cancer support group may contact Gwen or Myrtle on the given cellphone numbers.

They meet every second Saturday at 2.30pm, at Trinity Community Church in Sunward Park.
