Rotarians discuss the law
Rotary Club Boksburg Lake President Nicky Savvides recently invited retired attorney Jeff Matthee to address the club on matters of the law with respect to the Oscar Pistorius case.
According to Savvides, the law can often be baffling, especially when it comes to high level trials, so they thought it would be a good idea to learn more from an expert in the field.
Matthee has practised at top Boksburg legal firm Malherbe Rigg and Ranwell since 1977 and has many years of Rotary experience.
The retired attorney held his audience spellbound as he spoke about the legal and human aspects of trials, appeals and sentences.
The rights of a person who believes he is being attacked was one of the most important aspects discussed.
