Strong winds rip off Sunward Park High’s roof – again

Sunward Park High School suffered damage to its building when metal sheets from the roof of the far end building, next to the soccer fields, were blown off during a thunderstorm, during the night of Friday, October 21.

This is 11 months after the same roof was blown off in November, last year.

A number of classrooms in the C-block, housing e-learning equipment, were affected and this resulted in electrical equipment, such as projectors, being damaged.

It is not yet known how much the damage amounts to in monetary terms.

The Gauteng Department of Education, as well as the school’s insurance company, will conduct the assessment.
