Deserving matriculants recognised at Peermont CSI Awards

Every year Peermont contributes millions of rands to the communities surrounding its business units, amounting to over R34-million last year.

To celebrate and recognise the hard working people that make these community projects a success, the company hosted a CSI awards ceremony at Emperors Palace on Thursday evening, September 1.

Peermont sponsors full bursaries for deserving matriculants from Ekurhuleni.

By offering a mentorship programme and holistic support throughout the student’s tertiary years, Peermont constantly achieves an 85 per cent graduation rate.

To date, the trust has celebrated 114 graduates in various fields of study including commerce, engineering, medical technology and physics.

Seven of these graduates were recognised on Thursday evening, including Volsoorus resident, Thandeka Ngubeni, because she graduated with a National Diploma in Tourism from the University of Johannesburg at the end of last year.

One of the Trust’s Alumni, Neliswe Ncube, who matriculated from Petit High School and was raised in Daveyton but now lives in Boksburg, also received an award for Top Alumni having achieved the following qualifications: National Higher Certificate in Accountancy, Financial Information Systems, Bachelor’s degree in Technology, specialising in Computer Audit, Honours degree in Insurance Management, recently completed her Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) and is in the process of enrolling for her PhD.

One young Vosloorus resident, Patricia Dube, who has been a part of the Lesedi programme also received a CSI Award for successfully completing her NQF level 4 certificate and was also named the Top Electrician.
