Ward 22 councillor Robinson to focus on crime, ageing infrastructure

At just 26 years of age, Ruhan Robinson is already making moves in political circles.

Robinson has been chosen to be the councillor of Ward 22, covering the upper part of Witfield, East Rand Mall, Boksburg North, Ravenswood, Dayanglen, Boksburg West, Comet and Beyers Park.

Robinson expressed his excitement for the new position of being a ward councillor.

“I am very confident that I can fulfil this task as I look forward to serving the community wholeheartedly,” Robinson said.

Robinson has described himself as supportive and an approachable person, open to ideas. which he believes are characteristics that will make him a unique councillor.

He was born in Mpumalanga and moved to Boksburg, where he completed his primary and high school education.

Robinson holds a BCom Law and LLB degrees. He also loves socialising and reading.

In 2014 he was a PR councillor for Ward 61 and later for Ward 98.

According to Robinson, his law background will assist him in interpreting by-laws and his legal background will aid him when making vital decisions to improve the lives of those living in the ward.

Robinson said his key focus will be crime and ageing infrastructure around Anderbolt and Boksburg North.

He is also going to work on eliminating the drug trade in Boksburg while tackling illegal hostels and illegal advertising.

He is not related to former ward 22 Clr Benno Robinson.
