Gang of robbers loot shops in the mall
Armed robbers looted Incredible Connection and Europa Art Shoes, situated at East Rand Mall, at around 5.30am this morning (April 12).
According to the Boksburg North SAPS communication officer, Lieut Juanita Coetzer, an unknown vehicle stopped in front of Entrance One, occupied by six male suspects.
“They first forced the security guards and cleaners to lie down and took the guards’ radios,” said Coetzer.
“The suspects then forced open the doors of the shops before stealing stock.
“When the alarm went off, other security responded which resulted in the suspects fleeing the scene.”
It is understood a shot was fired by one of the suspects.
No one sustained any injuries.
A docket for armed robbery was recorded at the Boksburg North SAPS.
