Ramaphosa artist takes on the music industry

You might not know the name Tebatso Mohlala but you will soon if you love gospel music.

The 24-year-old singer from Ramaphosa has hit the music industry by divine storm.

Mohlala matriculated at the Watville Adult Education Centre, but due to finances her dreams of becoming a beautician didn’t pan out.

Fortunately she could fall back on another talent – singing – something she has been doing from the age of seven.

“I always knew from an early age that music was in my blood, so when I grew up I couldn’t ignore the calling God placed upon me,” she said.

Mohlala also writes her own songs and hopes to carve out a sustainable career from her artistic talent.

She believes she can conquer the music industry by healing and inspiring people through her music.

Mohlala’s debut album titled Ke Lerato was recorded in October last year.

It is now on sale and includes tracks like Morena keyago bitsa and Jeso ke morena.

“I want to inspire the youth that they should not lose hope and not give up on their dreams because one day through perseverance dreams can come true.”

Her one wish is for young people to stay away from drugs and alcohol as it threatens the future of South Africa.

Mohlala is currently promoting her album in various churches on the East Rand and so far she said her inspiring music has been well received.
