CBC shines with 100 per cent pass rate in IEB matric examinations

Christian Brothers College (CBC) Boksburg is proud to announce a 100 per cent pass rate with a 100 per cent entrance to tertiary education.

A total of 49 learners sat for the 2015 IEB matric examinations and 45 (92 per cent) passed with bachelor degree entrances and four (eight per cent) with diploma entrance.

An additional 12 learners attained at least one distinction each in a range of subjects including Afrikaans, accounting, isiZulu and mathematical literacy.

The top three learners from the school are Nikhil Rugunanan who received five distinctions, Leo Breedt also with five distinctions and Bradley Lucas with four distinctions.

“We congratulate all our boys on their results which attests to their commitment and hard work. The number of passes at bachelor degree level has shown an increase of two per cent on that attained in 2014, the dedication of the teachers in giving support to the matrics of 2015, is to be commended,” said headmaster, Jim Connell.

In addition, two learners, Jude Naidoo and Anthony Holroyd, earned three distinctions each.

They, together with the top three learners, were all given specific recognition by CBC for their academic ability and service to the community and the school.
