Man robbed, killed following steamy romp with prostitute
A man from Midrand, who allegedly paid a prostitute R10, got more than he had bargained when he was killed by four robbers after he had satisfied his sexual urges.
According to Boksburg SAPS spokesperson Kwendzakwakhe Ngobese, Edwin Tshuma, who originally hails from Zimbabwe, parked his vehicle at the shopping centre along Rondebult Road, before he went to the nearby bushes with the prostitute on Friday afternoon, March 27.
“After a steamy romp, four men confronted Tshuma in the bushes before stabbing him multiple times and stealing his valuable belongings,’ said Ngobese.
Ngobese said that police received a call from a member of the public saying a man had been stabbed.
“The victim suffered several wounds and was certified dead on the scene.”
Three of the suspected killers – aged 20, 28 and 29 – were arrested over the weekend. They have been charged with murder and they are likely to face additional charges, including robbery.
According to Ngobese, police have in the past arrested scores of women for prostitution, many of them using the bushes along Rondebult Road.
He admitted that despite the crackdown by police on prostitutes, the sex trade still continues which has contributed to significant increases in other contact crimes like rapes, assaults and robberies.
According to a police officer who asked to remain anonymous, although prostitutes are arrested on a regular basis, they return to their trade because of the low fines imposed on offenders.
* In a similar bizarre incident, paramedics treated and rushed a severely wounded man to Tambo Memorial Hospital on Thursday, March 26, after he was stabbed by robbers after having sex with a prostitute in the bushes.
The stabbing was not reported to the police and the motive for the stabbing is unknown. – @FaniFLK
