Ekurhuleni shares in the joy on Christmas babies

Christmas Day is a time for exchanging gifts and, some mothers gave birth to more precious gifts on this special day.

The Member of Mayoral Committee (MMC) for Health and Social Services, Cllr Makhosazana Mabaso, spent her time visiting Natalspruit Hospital in Vosloorus, Bertha Gxowa Hospital in Germiston and Tambo Memorial Hospital in Boksburg to welcome the Christmas babies, bringing along goodies for the bundles of joy.

Thirteen new born babies from the three hospitals received their first gifts from the City of Ekurhuleni. The gift packs included Ekurhuleni branded bathtubs, baby blankets and baby products.

Speaking to their mothers, Mabaso said, “I wish the children good health, and those who are not with their mothers to get better soon so they can be reconnected with their mothers.”

She further urged the mothers to breastfeed and take good care of their children.

The MMC also welcomed babies born on New Year’s Day at Pholosong Hospital followed by followed by Far East Rand and Tembisa hospitals.
