According to Ekurhuleni Metro Police Department (EMPD) spokesperson Kobedi Mokheseng, the incident happened at 8:58am, at entrance five of the mall.
Four vehicles were involved in the incident.
“It is alleged that after the driver accidentally hit the female pedestrian, she tried to apply her brakes in shock but instead accelerated and collided with three parked vehicles.
“The pedestrian was declared dead on the scene,” says Mokheseng.
Mokheseng says the driver was accompanied by a licensed man.
A case has been opened at the Boksburg North Police for further investigation.
The East Rand Mall is still looking into the matter.
The licensed driver should also be charged as he was suppose to be in control of the vehicle and as an adult he should’ve made her aware of the speed limit. How fast was she going that she killed somebody?? death penalty must be brought back. It is too easy to take someone else’s life and just say sorry!!
The ‘learner driver’ was not 47 years old. She was in her twenties. If we suddenly have a 47 old driver, there is definitely a cover up of some sort. Speak to the dead’s woman’s colleagues

Also why did it take Metro so long to remove the body. I passed there at 12.30 and she was still lying there

The law must take an action to the learner driver. I now it was a mistake but what was her speed because before you get a learners licence they teach the road signs and a speedlimit why her speed take someones life . she must go to jail. real is very sad this thing
