“Films from any genre can be submitted in a DVD format, on a USB or by uploading a link on the eThekwini Filmmakers Association (EFA) website,” she said.

Msani said the link can also be emailed to efa031@gmail.com. Submitted films are requested to be clearly marked with the film title, the producer’s name and the producer’s contact details.

“Film submissions may be hand-delivered, during office hours, or sent via post to the Durban Film Office, 41 Margaret Mncadi Avenue, Rennie House, 11th Floor, no later than November 10,” she said.

Msane added that, regrettably, films with technical errors would not be considered. For any enquiries regarding award submissions, contact EFA via email at efa031@gmail.com.

“AEFA encourages high-quality productions and allows for local, emerging film producers to have their films aired on national television, after receiving awards or nominations. It is run by EFA, which is funded by the Durban Film Office. It is part of the City’s initiative to assist local, emerging filmmakers through skills development programmes,” she said.
